Student Wellbeing
Chaplaincy / Student Wellbeing at Montmorency Primary
Montmorency Primary School is fortunate to have, Beverley Hardi, School Chaplain, as a part of our wellbeing team. Bev has worked at MPS since 2007. This project was funded by the Australian Government Department of Education under the National School Chaplaincy and Student Welfare Program. Chaplaincy is a unique service that is of great value to our students, staff and parents, offering care, building the social skills of students, and encouraging responsible behaviour amongst our young people. Our Chaplain Beverley Hardi works as an integral part of our Wellbeing Team. Together they offer individual support. They plan and implement wellbeing programs across the curriculum and participate in a broad range of school coordinated activities such as school excursions, camps, sporting events, assemblies and at MPS, lunchtime student activities. This Program is of a voluntary nature and Bev's role is non-religious. She offers support for any student or family who seeks assistance. Like our teachers, she is professionally-trained and has the well-being of students as her primary focus. Part of Bev's role is to also coordinate the school's community involvement in local and overseas causes. You can find information about these activities here on Our Community Involvement page. Each year our school council seeks feedback from our school community in order to enable us to review and confirm support for the Program. We also maintain a risk management plan which is reviewed annually. School procedures are followed for parents and students to seek referral, manage complaints and to opt out of the Program.
