Our School Committees
MPS School Captains, Junior School Council and Sport Captains
School and Sport Captains and Junior School Councillors are peer-voted students who are actively involved in the planning and running of the school. Elections are held at the beginning of Term One and Term Three. There are two members (one male and one female) to represent each class as junior councillors at ALL grade levels. Councillors help to run Assemblies as well as meeting regularly to discuss student raised issues in the school. They are also involved in Fundraising for Student Activities. The MPS Junior School Council page is HERE. MPS School Council The Victorian government has enacted policies by which the school community, through its School Council, has opportunity and responsibility in decision making at a school level. It is through the School Council that opportunity is provided for interested parties to take part in all aspects of the school’s operation. Such participation is consistent with the view that it is the school community who can best ensure that the educational experience provided is effective and responsive to emerging educational priorities. The School Council consists of 12 members made up of parent, staff and a community representatives. The MPS School Council page is HERE. MPS Parents & Friends Group The Parents & Friends Group at Montmorency Primary School is overseen by School Council and organises social occasions and providing recreational and educational facilities to benefit the children’s education. Parents and Friends play a vital role in Fundraising for our school as well as supporting teachers and Council in a multitude of ways to ensure that everyone’s time at Montmorency Primary School is as positive as possible.
