Our Community Involvement
> MPS opens its doors to various community groups, such as our monthly Monty Farmers Market, and also the Montmorency Community Food Swap group who uses our Pizza Oven and our rotunda area for a monthly local food swap.
> Our facilities are used by other community members, such as The Warringal Dog Obedience Club on weekends, for evening yoga classes and for Monty Community Group workshops.
> Every year our school is very consistent about supporting several causes both locally and overseas.

![]() DVCS is an independent not-for-profit organisation that provides direct aid, assistance, support and information for the people of Greensborough and surrounding areas.
A big thank-you to the parents who stayed after assembly to listen to Colin Macklin share a few words about Diamond Valley Community Support and what it is all about. I call DVCS the 'hidden gem of the local communities' as this organisation provides many types of support to those in need in the Diamond Valley area. - Bev Hardi, Student Welfare March 2013: The grade 1/2 classes held a Pancake Day this month and raised over $400.00 for the DVCS. The money raised is going towards the back to school fund that DVCS offers to families in the Diamond Valley area. Orphfund![]() Orphfund www.orphfund.org
This year we are kicking off 2013 with a new and unique innovative appeal called Orphfund, Orphfund works within remote communities in some of the world's poorest countries. Our projects aim to reach out to vulnerable children who have been abandoned or orphaned and help provide them with shelter, education, care and support. Montmorency PS will take part in filling up back packs with school supplies, small clothing items (underwear, t-shirts) and other essentials that aid in a school age Child’s experience. We ask that you bring new items for this task or used items that are in ‘nic’ condition. The final day for donations will be Friday 8 March and there will be a table in front foyer to put your packs or items on. Operation Christmas Child![]() In terms 3 we support ‘Operation Christmas Child’ by compiling Christmas Shoe Boxes to be sent to a developing country. ‘Operation Christmas Child’ puts smiles on faces, bringing joy and hope to children in need with gift-filled shoe boxes lovingly packed by the families at Montmorency Primary School along with other community groups, schools and those wanting to make a difference to a child in need at Christmas time.
